NCAA DIVISION III TOURNAMENT--National Finals:


Sam Roy scored 3 points in Bowdoin's 81-67 loss to undefeated Thomas More (Kentucky) in the NCAA Division III National Championship Game.

 

NCAA DIVISION II TOURNAMENT--Second Round:


Cheray Saunders had 4 points and 3 assists as Nova Southeastern upset their second straight higher-seeded opponent, defeating West Florida 87-78 in the second round of the NCAA Division II National Tournament to advance to the "Sweet 16".

 

 

 

FRIDAY MARCH 15, 2019

 

NCAA DIVISION III TOURNAMENT--National Semi-Finals:


Sam Roy had 4 assists and only 1 turnover in 32 minutes as Bowdoin defeated St. Thomas (Minnesota) 71-60 to advance to Saturday night's NCAA Division III national championship game.

 

NCAA DIVISION II TOURNAMENT--First Round:
 

Cheray Saunders had 6 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals as 7th seeded Nova Southeastern upset 2nd seeded (# 13 nationally) Union University of Tennessee 71-66 in the first round of the NCAA Division II Southern Regional.

NCAA DIVISION III TOURNAMENT--"Elite 8":


Starting point guard Sam Roy had 13 points and 5 assists as Bowdoin defeated Ithaca 87-61 to advance to the NCAA Division III Final Four for the 2nd straight season!
 

Sophomore Emily Briggs scored a team-high 13 points and freshman Janette Wadolowski had 6 points, 9 rebounds as Tufts lost to host Scranton 44-40.

 

 

 

FRIDAY MARCH 8, 2019

 

NCAA DIVISION III TOURNAMENT- "Sweet 16":


Cam Hendricks (6 points, 10 rebounds) hit a 3 pointer with 1 second left to send the game to OT, but 2-time defending national champion Amherst lost on the road to St. Thomas (Minnesota) 61-58.


Sam Roy had 9 points, 4 assists, 3 steals as Bowdoin defeated New Paltz 81-50 to advance to the Elite 8.


Janette Wadolowski scored 4 points and Emily Briggs added 2 points as Tufts defeated Messiah (PA) 55-41 to advance to the Elite 8.

Cheray Saunders had 5 points and 3 assists as Nova Southeastern defeated Embry-Riddle 85-79 in the Sunshine State Conference tournament semifinals.

NCAA DIVISION III TOURNAMENT-Second Round:

Cam Hendricks had 8 points and 4 rebounds as Amherst defeated SUNY-Geneseo 58-46; Sam Roy had 7 points, 4 assists and 3 rebounds as Bowdoin erased an 8-point deficit entering the 4th quarter and came back to defeat Smith 87-78; Emily Briggs scored 7 points and Janette Wadolowski added 4 points, 6 rebounds as Tufts broke a 4th quarter tie then held on for a 52-46 win over Haverford; Morina Bojka had 7 points and 5 rebounds in Mt. St. Mary's 79-52 loss to Christopher Newport (VA); Loren D'Agostino had 6 points and 3 rebounds in Emmanuel's 80-49 loss to #25 SUNY-New Paltz.

NCAA DIVISION III TOURNAMENT-First Round:

Freshman Janette Wadolowski scored 18 points on 7-7 shooting and Emily Briggs added 10 points as Tufts defeated Western New England 70-44; Sam Roy scored a team-high 16 points as Bowdoin defeated Hunter 93-73; Freshman Loren D'Agostino had 8 points, 5 rebounds in Emmanuel's 69-65 win over Hartwick. It was the first NCAA tourney win in 7 years for the Saints; Morina Bojka had 6 points, 3 rebounds in Mount St. Mary's 85-80 win over Westfield State; Cam Hendricks had 3 points, 9 rebounds as Amherst began defense of their back to back NCAA Division III championships with a 66-45 opening round win over Hunter College.

Izzy Lipinski had 10 points,10 rebounds in Franklin Pierce's 57-55 season-ending loss to #13 Bentley. She finished her freshman season with 6 double-doubles and led the team in rebounding, FG pct & blocked shots, was 2nd in scoring and 3rd in assists.

 

 

 

SUNDAY FEBRUARY 24, 2019

 

Emily Briggs (4 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals) and Janette Wadolowski (4 points, 3 rebounds) helped Tufts to a 75-69 upset win over previously undefeated #1 Bowdoin 75-69 in the NESCAC championship game Sam Roy had 12 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists in the loss.

Freshman Janette Wadolowski's jumper with 1.4 seconds left gave Tufts a 47-46 victory over 2-time defending national champion Amherst in the NESCAC semifinals; Sam Roy scored a game-high 20 points as #1 Bowdoin remained undefeated with a 84-58 win over Middlebury in the other NESCAC semifinal game; Freshman Izzy Lipinski had game-highs of 17 points and 9 rebounds in Franklin Pierce's 83-68 loss to Southern New Hampshire; Samira Abdelrehim had 9 points, 6 rebounds in Brandeis' 64-58 season ending loss to NYU.

Alex Goslin's free throw with 6 seconds left broke a 46-46 tie & helped Springfield to a 48-46 win over Smith in the NEWMAC semi's. Goslin led the Pride with 15 points while Taylor Hall had 4 pts, 9 rebs; Jackie Jozefick scored 8 points and Bianca Tomassini had 5 rebounds in Babson's 73-46 loss to MIT in the NEWMAC semi's; Lexi Gellerman scored 5 points as Endicott defeated Curry College 67-51 in the CCC semi's; Morina Bojka had 2 pts, 2 rebs in Mt. St. Mary's 76-44 victory over Purchase College in the Skyline Conference semi's.

Freshman Izzy Lipinski scored a career-high 25 points and added game-highs of 11 rebounds and 6 assists in Franklin Pierce's 74-70 loss to St. Michael's; Sam Roy scored 10 points as #1 Bowdoin finished the regular season undefeated at 24-0 with a 92-75 win over Wesleyan; Jackie Jozefick scored 8 points as Babson defeated Springfield 70-57 to remain in first place in the NEWMAC. Alex Goslin scored 11 points in the loss and Taylor Hall added 6 points, 4 rebounds; Loren D'Agostino had 7 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in Emmanuel's 83-42 win over St. Joe's (CT); Karli Opalka had 7 points, 10 rebounds in Roger Williams' 47-44 loss to Endicott. Lexi Gellerman had 2 points, 4 rebounds in the win for the Gulls, who remain in first place in the Commonwealth Coast Conference; Tashai Price had 6 points and 5 rebounds in Western CT's 79-61 loss to in-state rival Eastern CT; Cam Hendricks scored 6 points as # 4 Amherst defeated Middlebury 72-62.
